CDC Statistics on Disability in the U.S. – One in four adults in the U.S. has a disability that affects major life activities, according to a new analysis. The most common type of disablity: mobility. Nearly 14 percent of people indicated that they had a moblity-related disablity, 11 percent a cognitive disablity, 6 percent hearing disablity, and 5 percent a visual disablity.

National Rehabilitation Information Center (NARIC) - The National Rehabilitation Information Center (NARIC) is the library of the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR.). Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) Releases New Study on Healthcare Transition and Employment - ODEP commissioned this study in 2012 to better understand the relationship between disability (including chronic health conditions); health and wellness; and transition and employment outcomes for youth with disabilities. In addition, the study examined the role health-care providers play in establishing employment expectations.
Rehabilitation Engineering Research Centers (RERC) - conduct programs of advanced research of an engineering or technical nature designed to apply advanced technology, scientific achievement, and psychological and social knowledge to solve rehabilitation problems and remove environmental barriers. RERCs also develop systems for the exchange of technical and engineering information worldwide and improve the distribution of technological devices and equipment to individuals with disabilities.
